
JESSE CARLOCK, PHD is a psychologist, writer, trainer, and educator. Jesse has extensively trained in Gestalt and Satir Systems Theory.
Jesse received her PhD from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida in 1975. She was licensed as a psychologist in 1978 after serving three years as Assistant Professor of Counseling Education at Wright State University. Since that time, Jesse has been in private practice in Dayton and Vandalia, Ohio. She is also a corporate crisis consultant with Supportive-Solutions, Inc. and Crisis Care Network. In addition, Jesse is Clinical Professor of Professional Psychology at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.
Jesse has trained with leading experts in the field of therapy such as Carl Whitaker, Erving and Miriam Polster, Virginia Satir, Sonia Nevis, Betty Carter, and Stephen Gilligan to name a few, Jesse has also completed several extensive post-graduate training programs in Gestalt, Satir Family Systems theory, and clinical hypnosis. Jesse is always advancing her skills. She loves to learn.
Currently holding memberships in several professional organizations: Satir Institude of the Pacific, Ohio Psychological Association, Dayton Area Psychological Association, and the Virginia Satir Global Network. Jesse is also a member of the Satir Institute of the Pacific in Vancouver, BC, Canada, and is Associate Editor of The Satir Journal: Transformation and Systemic Therapy, published by the Satir Institute of the Pacific.
Writing is another love of Jesse's. In addition to journal articles and book chapters covering topics related to group dynamics, intergenerational family therapy, self-esteem, gay/lesbian issues, alcoholism, and the Satir Model. Jesse has also written several books: Enhancing Self-esteem, Bridges to Intimacy, and Enhancing Self-esteem Workbook.
In addition to a general practice, Jesse's current specialties include group therapy, couples therapy, traumatic stress disorders, substance use disorders, gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender issues, chronic and life threatening illnesses, mood and anxiety disorders, life coaching, and corporate crisis work.
In her free time Jesse enjoys cross-country skiing, scuba diving, hiking, travel, films, cultural events, the Beach Water Park in summer and reading in front of a fire with her family, including her loving spouse, two very cute and huggable cock-a-poos, Harley and Roxie and Gert, her German Shepherd.

CAROL PRATT, M.S.W., L.I.S.W., earned her MSW in clinical social work from The University of Cincinnati. She is a Licensed Independent Social Worker and has worked in the mental health field for the last twenty years. Carol has worked in private practice, hospitals, head trauma units and most recently the Darke County Mental Health Clinic. Carol was the therapist for the Darke County School system's Severe Behavioral Handicapped/Severely Emotional Disturbed program for eight years and an outpatient therapist in the Darke County Mental Health Clinic for eleven years.
Through the years Carol has also worked with couples in marriage counseling and groups of teens on the subject of date rape, self-esteem issues, relationships and communication skills. Carol's specialty for the last eight years has been working with troubled youth and children with ADHD and their families. Her goal of working with troubled youth is to help them make better choices and feel better about themselves. Her work with families has been to facilitate better understanding of developmental stages, parenting skills, cooperation, respect and communication.
For the last twenty years Carol has continued her education by attending workshops on teen violence, ADHD, domestic violence, physical, emotional and sexual abuse and play therapy.
Carol has also attended workshops in Psychodrama, Gestalt therapy and Hypnosis.

SCOTT RATHJE, M.S.W., L.I.S.W., has over 23 years of direct practice experience providing individual, family, couples, marital, and group therapies to adults, children, adolescents and teens from diverse populations. He has provided these counseling services in a variety of professional settings, ranging from Corrections, Juvenile Court, substance abuse treatment, in-patient psychiatric hospitals, community hospitals, health-care, private practice, and outpatient community mental health centers.
Scott has held his independent licensure in the State of Ohio in Social Work (LISW) since 1999. He obtained his Masters degree in Social Work in 1995 from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Previous to that, Scott obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at East Stroudsburg State College in East Stroudsburg, PA.
In addition to his formal education, Scott has 21 years of experience and training gained from attending workshops and training sessions in a wide range of areas, such as: "Dealing with Grief", "Children of Alcoholic Families", "Risk Assessment for Violence", "Working with the Sex Offender", "Assessing the Chemically Abusing Client", as well as many other areas.

GLORIA HIMES, MS, PCC, SC, has 21 years of experience working in the mental health field in both inpatient and outpatient settings with adults, adolescents, and children. She has also worked as a counselor in a juvenile detention center. In addition, Gloria has counseled couples and families, and has gained a great deal of experience working as a Crisis Therapist therapist off and on over the past several years. She has worked with clients experiencing a wide variety of issues and problems, such as anxiety disorders, social phobia, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression, bipolar disorder, sexual and physical abuse, marital problems, gay and lesbian issues, women's issues, eating disorders, addictions, and problems managing anger and stress.
Gloria attended The University of Dayton where she earned a Master's degree in Social Agency Counseling II, and later completed the Clinical Counseling program. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development from Antioch University in Yellow Springs, Ohio, and obtained an Associates degree in Mental Health Technology from Sinclair Community College in Dayton.
Gloria has attended many workshops and seminars throughout her career focused on such topics as Bipolar Disorder in youth, helping children cope with grief, understanding addictions, marital and family counseling, abuse issues, anxiety disorders, depression, and eating disorders.
Gloria enjoys spending her free time with her husband, their two sons, and three grandchildren, and walking her dog. She truly enjoys spending time outdoors gardening, biking, hiking, and visiting the Atlantic Ocean and Appalachian Mountains each year.

WILLIAM LAVANCHE, M.ED., PCC, LICDC, is a native of the Dayton area. He is a graduate of the University of Dayton and holds a Masters Degree in Counselor Education. He is licensed as a Supervising Independent Professional Clinical Counselor (PCC) by the Ohio Marriage, Family, Counselor and Social Worker Board. He is also licensed as an Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC) by the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board.
Bill is a veteran therapist with over 16 years experience in various levels of care and several modalities of treatment. He has also worked on several psychological research projects. His primary therapeutic orientation is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, however, he integrates other approaches into his therapy in order to meet the particular needs of the client. In addition to his expertise in substance abuse and addiction, Bill's specialties include pain management, mood disorders, geriatrics, anxiety, PTSD, adult ADD and ADHD, gambling and spending addictions, anger management and issues of adolescence. Bill also enjoys writing and presenting workshops on a variety of topics.
Personally, Bill is happily married. He enjoys the outdoors, spiritual endeavors, sports and travel.

MARGARET KOPPENHOFER has been a resident of Dayton, Ohio since 1977. She attended Findlay College, Findlay, Ohio majoring in English. She has held several administrative and office manager positions in the legal, computer and banking fields, and has broad experience in accounting, taxes and administration.
Margaret is married and has two sons and two grandsons. Special interests outside of work include stock market investing, reading, charity work and gardening.
